New Laser from Identify enables direct metal marking!

Always at the cutting edge of laser technology, Epilog is launching a new laser.

Taking advantage of fiber laser developments Identify is able to offer a system that provides a price to size ratio that is unrivalled anywhere.

Fiber generated lasers run at the same frequency as YAG lasers which have been in use for many years, the difference is that fiber laser are generally accepted as having a considerably longer service life, sometimes quoted as five times longer!

The all new Epilog FiberMark system offers 10 or 20 watts laser power evenly distributed over an area 600mm x 300mm.

This means that components requiring any form of identification from DataMatrix and Barcoding to simple sequential numbering or naming can be placed in the machine and marked quickly and easily.

For decorative marking the system has frequency and focus control which can give the flexibility to produce some interesting effects.

The new FiberMark laser will mark many materials including Titanium, Steel, Aluminium, Brass, Carbide, Plastics, Ceramics and many others.

The FiberMarker benefits from a .001” spot size which simply put means high precision marks across the whole work area.

Epilog have always excelled at producing flying optics systems which is why the new system adopts this well proven technology which means that Identify customers will always get top marks!!

New hard surface laminate from Identify

Identify Engraving Systems has announced the launch of ‘Multigraph’ which is a new engraving laminate based on new technology surface coatings.

Multigraph has been developed to meet the increasing demands of modern engravers and modern engraving systems. Until now the only hard surface engraving laminates were either paper based or they had thick caps which made it difficult to produce fine detailed engraving.

Multigraph is not only UV stable but can be engraved by both mechanical and laser engravers making it the perfect choice for all engravers and all applications.

Available in 5 popular colourways and in .75mm and 1.5mm thickness this new material is set to become a highly popular choice.

Samples are available from Identify Engraving Systems, Unit 8 Windmill Farm Business Centre, Bartley Street , Bedminster, Bristol BS3 4DB. Tel: 0117 953 0800 email: sales@identify.co.uk www.identify.co.uk

West Riding Engravers and Identify - Flying High!

When West Riding Engravers decided they wanted a laser engraver, they wanted the biggest and the best, but there was a problem, they wanted to site their Epilog laser on the second floor and it wouldn’t go up the stairs!!

The Epilog Legend EXT has a work area of 900mm x 600mm and consequently has a big chassis and weighs nearly ¼ of a tonne so man-handling the machine was not an option.

It didn’t take long to work out that the second floor window had to come out and the laser would have to go in that way.

Paul Sloggett Service Manager at Identify said ‘’it was one of those heart in the mouth moments but in the end the operation was faultless”

Both the machine and the customer survived the experience and the Epilog laser is now working all day every day with its high flying experience left safely behind.

Uplifted product design using printers from Identify

Identify Engraving Systems has added more printers to its range.

Stephen Jater – MD said   “We introduced our ColourJet printers a few months ago to great acclaim, since then our customers have had the facilities to apply vibrant and highly detailed colour to their work giving it even greater value”.

Stephen continued, “the ColourJet printer range is based on Epson technology in A3 and A4 format which means that the printers are intuitive to use and very cost effective.  We are finding great applications everywhere and our users are excited about being able to deliver a customer’s logo no matter how complex, and in true colour without any fuss or special expertise”.

“We have printers putting great images down on metals and all sorts of other materials from leather and plastics to medal centres and golf balls in fact we’re learning all the time!”

Our printer business is moving very quickly and we’re delighted that the DirectJet printer has joined the range.  Whereas the ColourJet requires the user to pre-coat the surface to be printed the DirectJet as its name suggest does not which means that it can print all the same materials as the ColourJet and more besides.

One of the most requested facilities with flat-bed printers is the ability to print on clear acrylic which the DirectJet does with accuracy, clarity and durability.  This means that short run high quality graphics for POS and many other applications is now a cost effective reality.

In the very near future the DirectJet printer will deliver a clear coat on the printed image which will be UV cured providing an unrivalled and more durable finish that any other printer in its class.”

In conclusion Stephen said “We have believed for many years that the ability to use and deliver colour to our customers was the next step and I am pleased to say that we’ve not only done that, but we’ve delivered quality and economy too!”
